Western businessmen are familiar with sayings such as “Asia is the future”, “China is the world's factory” and many others, and many an entrepreneur has explored the Chinese market at some point, or at least considered doing so.
In Canton Global Logistics Co. we know that, when starting a business in China, one must face two main obstacles: language and distance. As a matter of fact, both can be easily overcome. Finding a local translator to assist you during your stay is reasonably easy and cheap, and many companies offer this kind of service.
As for distance, nowadays it has become a relatively minor problem. The most important cities in China are well connected with the main international business hubs. Flights from the main European capitals allow you to travel to Shanghai, Hong Kong or Beijing in about 12 hours.
Alternatively, ships take less than two months in getting to Europe from China. Shipping a container from Guangzhou to Valencia can be as inexpensive as 3,000 €. Quite cheap if we take into account that these containers take 38 cubic meters or 24 tons, and normally the value of the enclosed goods goes over 1 million euros.
Though neither language nor distance are really a problem, there can be other unexpected issues to deal with: for instance, finding your way through the intricate Chinese bureaucracy,
or finding yourself lost in the immensity of this country where hundreds if not thousands of factories offer the same products. Bear in mind that 40% of the items in Western markets come from China,
so getting in touch with the best supplier for the product you are after can be a bit like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Our aim at Canton Global Logistics Co. LTD is to make your transactions in China easier, safer and faster.
